Take the winding road through citrus orchards and natural fynbos along a stream deep into the mountains and you will discover romantic De Kom luxury cottage. Set in a natural mountain basin 2 km from the other cottages, De Kom is truly private and isolated from the stress of the outside world. This charming cottage has 2 bedrooms, one with a queen size bed, and the other with two singles, plus a double sleeper couch in the lounge - sleeping maximum 6 people in total. The appliances in both the kitchen and bathroom are all gas-operated to enhance that special mountain ambience.
The sitting room has an indoor fireplace and double French doors, leading out onto the undercover stoep with spectacular views over the plunge pool to the valley below.
The pool, inlaid with white river stones on the bottom, is guarded by a lemon and citrus orchard in front. Pool loungers complete the exquisite feel of bush luxury and sense of wellness whilst the majestic Cederberg Mountains provide a dramatic backdrop.

De Kom is set in a 2000 ha wilderness area of Petersfield where guests can hike through the veld or to the Rooibos tea plantations, take a 4x4 drive, and swim in the secluded mountain dam approximately 300 meters from the cottage. Small game abound around De Kom and, during the late afternoons, guests can watch as eagles hunt for basking dassies in the cliffs in front of the cottage.
